Fruit Trees and vines need special pruning in order to produce good farmer’s market quality fruit. You don’t have to settle for worm-eaten, small fruit. If you want accessible fruit next year and the year after, I can prune your tree to provide that! For the past 11 years I have grown from bare-root and managed a mini-orchard in our yard in SE Reno which includes apple, cherry, nectarine, pear and peach trees which bear fruit after every mild spring. All of our trees need only a stool or 6 foot ladder to harvest all the fruit.
For the past 7 years I have studied various agricultural extension publications on the web on specific pruning requirements on many kinds of fruiting vegetation. For instance, each type of tree requires a certain shape and pruning schedule. Apple and pear need pruning by January-February and Peach/apricot/cherry (stone fruits) need pruning in the spring right before budding.
I can teach you how to prune to help your trees bear fruit and how to protect them during our harsh high altitude spring frosts as well as how to protect against various pests and fruit tree diseases. I can educate you on proper culling methods for all kinds of fruit as many trees produce too much fruit to grow them all to proper size. I am able to properly prune grapevines and berry vines as well.
